How We Got Started

Mt. Carmel Farms is a small family owned farm in Tipton co. TN.

We raise chickens, cows, goats, horses, ducks and pigs at this time.

How many eggs does a chicken lay?

Chickens lay from 160 eggs per year to 300 eggs per year depending on the breed.

How big is a chicken egg?

An average chicken egg is 2oz.  However many older chickens will lay larger eggs.   We have had an egg as big as 3.4 oz.  when the chicken starts to lay their egg is called a pullet egg and can be as small as 1 oz.

How many chickens do you have?

Currently we have a little over 400 Chickens. With about half laying right now and the rest should lay before te end of the year.
